Cheap Flights... anyone know of any good deal or sites?

I'm always hearing of people getting really cheap flights and wondered if i was missing something.
My family want to go & see friens in Germany. In the past we have flown to Frankfurt, Padaborn & Cologne from Bournemouth & Southampton.

Cheapest I have found it is over £400 for 2 adults & 2 children! any tips anyone?

Many Thanks in advance

I would travel to Stansted where they are currently doing flights to Hahn for £1 with no taxes. I know its al long way from Frankfurst but they have a coach (Terravision) that runs to the centre of Frankfurt every hour and is matched to the Ryanair flight times...........dont forget that hand luggage only will get you this price and although it sounds harsh, 10kg is quite enough if you pack carefully. Wear the heavy trainers and jeans and dont take lots of extra shoes they are the killer.
Good luck.

not to mention its 200 miles from bournemouth to stanstead :w00t:

ryanair fly from bournemouth :-D

Its actually 150 from Bournemouth and 120 from Southampton, an easy drive too.........he dosn't say where he is based.

my point was why drive all that way to stanstead when ryanair fly from bournemouth

dont think i could face coming back from holiday and then having a 3-4 hour drive (according to multimap - 186 miles 3hr 38mins Bnmth - stnstd)

Because Bournemouth only has a few routes. You could go out Bournemouth to dublin and then dublin to Hahn but you can't return that way because of the flight times................Don't forget that from Stansted it saves £400, plenty of savings to stay over if you don't want to drive straight back.
At half term I am taking three flights to get to my destination, it will cost a total of £15 each and is saving over £500 for the five of us one way. I have done the route before and although it takes a while its not a bad trip considering I don't travel too well.

Try www.skyscanner.net

Well CSI and Wendy's mileage bitchfest was really helpful, not! :w00t:

Another couple of options to Germany is AerLingus and Easyjet from Gatwick. You have to jump through a few hoops to get the best prices, but you can get returns from £29.98 and £43.98 respectively.

OR try: whichbudget.com/en/

I don't think that csiman was very nice, after all we are trying to help someone find a bargain. It really annoys me when someone tries to be helpful and smart remarks start popping up and diss everything you say................It would be helpful if the poster had given us a few dates as it could be next year or next week but he/ she seems to have gone away.Probably scared to post anything for fear of being ridiculed.
