good luck, last time it cose me £140 a night for a substandard hotel!!

Go to a bar called Cafe en Seine! it is the nicest place in the world

travelodge has an offer on irish hotels at the minute they start at 39 euros
    travelodge.co.uk/sea…lin

    Have you tried staydublin.com ?
We stayed in an apartment in the city centre and it cost us £42 each for both nights, £21 per night. There were 6 of us in a 3 bed apartment, but they do 1 bed and 2 bed apartments.
The apartments were nice and modern and fairly big, we even had a really large balcony.
It was a few minutes walk to temple bar but it was not too noisy at night.

    hope this helps

try the tourist agency website for dublin too - they do deals periodically.

we had booked a travellodge, but got a Temple bar hotel (paramount i think) with B&B for less than the lodge

Dublin is a pretty expensive city.

Living in Ireland I have the advantage of knowing a few good hotels

The Grehsam is the landmark Dublin hotel bang in the centre - the cheapest i have found it is £203 for the 2 nights per room. There are a few alternatives out of the city

The Clarion Liffey Valley - a really nice 4* hotel it is a commute into the city centre but a managable commute - BB works out at 145.00

The city west hotel - is a nice hotel outside of the city - if you get a renovated room - ask for one at reception or when booking and they usually accomadate you. The tram runs out as far as the hotel - there is a lemon grass resturuant and bar onsite which are good - it works out bout £114. for the 2 nights

The other thing to remember is car hire in ireland is rediculously cheap - £30 for 3 days

    Thanks again!

Try Jacobs Inn at back of bus depot, lovely rooms, about euros per night for a room I think price included breakfast, behind the bus station but very central. Sorry, can't remember street name but sure it's on the net.
