Cheap Hotel In Kent

4
Found 13th Jan 2011
Looking for a single night stopover somewhere in the southeast for Sat 22nd Jan, for a family of 4. Looks like all the Travelodge/Premier Inn deals have ended, so no £9 rooms!

Travelling on to Dover on Sunday morning, so ideally somewhere in Kent, but near the southern A1 or eastern M25 would do the job great too.

Been searching various sites, not really coming up with anything less than £40-£50 - would like to pay less if possible, but would pay that much for a decent hotel perhaps with facilities nearby for the kids for the evening (maybe a cinema, restaurant etc). I'm not a hotel snob - any branded chain or individual place is fine, so long as it's clean and has parking.

Any tips?!

There are fairly new Premier Inn hotels in Ashford and Rochester that are both on sites that have a Cineworld cinema, restaurants, fast food etc all within walking distance, (Ashford at Eureka Park and Rochester in Medway Valley Leisure Park). However for a family of 4 on the night you want it is £58 for Rochester or £61 for Ashford.

As to which is more convenient for Dover it depends which way you are going, the Rochester hotel is off the M2 and the Ashford one off the M20.

Thanks! Had a look at both that you suggested, but it's just the price that's putting me off. Got a Travelodge in Ashford booked for the way back which was £19, so I think I just grudge paying 3 times as much for the same thing (tightwad, I know!)

I've therefore just booked the Hilton in Maidstone for £47 which isn't much of a saving, but it's a massive room, breakfast is included, and it has a swimming pool which will keep the kids happy for half an hour. Not much cheaper, but much more bang per buck (hopefully!).

Hi yeah the Hilton is probably a nicer hotel than the Premier Inn, so you've got a good deal at £47 for a family of 4!

Thanks for helping though! We'd probably have spent £20 on breakfast alone so it's really not that bad a deal at all
