Need a cheap laptop that can burn CDs. Nothing much else except a bit of browsing.
Have looked at reconditioned on Amazon(£150) but really don't feel confident as I'm clueless.
Thanks

Funny enough I was looking on ebay today for £50 laptops. Found a few even one with RW dvd drive. You shouldn't have much trouble. Take the HD out put in an SSD and install a flavor of Linux many Klinux.

Thanks for the reply.
Would you consider a redurb?
As for the taking out the HD and the install that's over my head

No because a reburb is just a clean and test. Best option is to use advanced search on eBay and select only private sellers and then look for genuine owners of second hand laptops amongst other things they are selling. That way you get someone who is simply upgrading to a new one and you might get an honest description.

As for swaping the HD, you can undo screws can't your ? it really is as easy as that. Do a search on excahnging Hd for SSD in laptop, you might even find the exact model.

But for burning you would be better of with a desktop.

How about this one, should go for much more then £50 eBay item number:381853335077

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll look into swapping the HD to ssd. I'm really not tech savvy but if it's as easy as you say I'm willing to give it a go.
My flat is tiny and space is a premium but if a desktop would maybe work if it could slot under my TV unit I suppose.
I hadn't really given a desktop a thought as an option tbh.
I'll look at the link you sent. Again thanks for taking the time to reply.
It's appreciated.
When you have no clue about computers etc it does seem a minefield.
