    Cheap Mobile Broadband

    Hi.
My sky broadband/tv contract is coming to an end. I am planning on giving them cancellation notice and see if they offer me anything better. Current offer they have given me is not great.

Whilst the services are cancelled I was hoping to still use internet at home using mobile broadband. Is this any good and any cheap monthly packages?

    any other suggestions?

    Thanks

There is a thread for negotiating a discount with SKY for tv and broadband. It lists all the things you can do to get 60% off from them within your 31day cancellation period so you wont lose any of your services either.

Unlimited tetherable 4G mobile internet for 30days via 3 handset PAYG SIM plus £25 AIO25 addon, or 12GB 4G via £20 AIO20 addon. T&c of the PAYG handset SIM do not support tethering but it is completely achieveable when using the SIM in most unlocked non-3-branded devices. If using the native Android hotspot as the tether source and a "data blocked" message is served, use the FoxFi app plus FoxFi key as the hotspot. Familiarise yourself with 3s KFI before commitment.

If you've got kids with their devices they'll probably hammer your 4g allowance very quickly. Plusnet seems competitive at the moment for ordinary (up to 17Mbps) broadband + line at £17.99 pm + £75 cashback with an 18 month tie in. Maybe more cashback via quidco etc if you trust them.

I'm very close to the exchange but don't have any problems whatsoever with NowTV and Netflix even when the kids are gaming. You might want a kodi android box but will need to research a bit if you haven't already. Lots of threads on here (some still live) about Kodi android boxes, VPN's, routers which are VPN compatible etc.

Sky would be my favoured provider, always had excellent service and line speeds from them. Only left because I couldn't negotiate them to a competitive rate but lots of people have successfully negotiated great deals through their retentions advisors.

    Hi. thanks guys appreciate it.

I have given my cancellation notice so now see what happens. The offer over the phone was not worth it.

You should see a 50%off offer on your account sometimes only hours after cancellation, after that you can go on live chat with sky and tell them you have seen the offer but its not good enough. Push for 60% as thats what most people have managed. Good Luck

same story here. looking for offer. the best so far with ee and that would be £13 for 18mth if tcb does pay
