You get what you pay for, and while there are some great developers in India you don't get the same communication with an english company.

I'm sure there are websites for you to post your project up and then freelance developers will offer their services which is probably cheaper than going through a company.

When it comes to employing a programmer, a highly specialised job, if you pay peanuts then you'll get monkeys!

I doubt the exact same level of qualification costs the same price in a country where 65% of the work force earn well below the minimum wage of £2.00 per day, as it does in a country where the minimum hourly wage is £5.80 per hour

I'm presuming this is for some sort of business? If so, you enjoy your cheap labour, just don't be surprised when 5 identical competitors spring up shortly afterwards undercutting you

Yes, go and someone cheap from India to do it.
Why waste good money on someone from England who would probably understand you better to start with, ask more relevant questions in early development, and help mould your results into something that you really want.
There are plenty of cheap Indians around to the work for you.
Why, there are some at the company I used to work for.
But be prepared for the "I will have a look at it, and see if I can get a solution for next Thursday" when things go wrong.
Or the "Sorry, I don't know why it is doing that. Is there anybody who can help me please?"

Now I'm not saying everyone is like that, but that is the experience I personally have of developers from India.
