Cheap rail tickets needed from Norwich to London

14
Found 2nd Sep 2008
I am planning on going to London Zoo end of this month / beginning of October. I would prefer to go on a coach trip but I can't find any local to me at all, so, the train it is!

However, I am getting prices for a open return from Norwich to London of around £70 each which is way too expensive and really ridiculous!

Does anyone know of a way to get cheap rail tickets to London? I know that they keep advertising things on the radio for cheap days out to London but I obviously can't find any!!

Thanks

national express have an offer £6 each way-have only looked at 2nd oct so far
nxea.trainsfares.co.uk/Buy…rue

and i think it offers 2 for 1 london zoo tickets too.

Advanced purchase fares on the train are just £6.00 each way from Norwich. That's £12 return - slightly better than your fare! I have used this several times with success. Have a look at : thetrainline.com

I am getting £12 single fares not £6 as mentioned above.

Also, can someone tell me, is Euston a train station or a tube station? The zoo is not far from Euston so would prefer to travel direct.

euston is a railway station im sure with links to the tube. Have you not been to london before? if not you will see all stations are connected by the tube.

try here to find location and nearest tube?

To get the £6 tickets, go for a time outside of "commuter time" when the trains are too crowded to be offered a deal price. I just tried 10.00 a.m. - Oct 2nd = £6.00. Stay in London for another hour (have a meal with the money you saved) and return at 7.00 p.m.

For your date of 29th Sept I can only get £12 each way (a late return gives you the £6 fare). On the trainline.com site look towards the bottom of the screen when prices are first mentioned and click the link stating "2 singles could be cheaper". This now shows you the real deal. Select an outward and a return - if you travel at popular times you pay more. HTH.
