    Cheap skate or savvy

    Banned
    Hello.

As has been kindly pointed out by somebody on another thread im a cheap skate, apparantly because I choose to spend my money a bit more wisely by shopping in the likes of aldi, lidl, poundland etc

So does shopping in these types of shops make you a cheap skate or are you just being a savvy shopper?

    Cheers

tbh the fruit/veg found in lidl is much better than tesco! But i must say poundland is junk! 99% of the time.

Fresh meat in my lidl - better british meat than the grey stuff often in tesco.. As with most stuff you have to be there at the right time though.

lol, I do, and Ive just got a job there aswell

Not because its my ideal job, but through necessity.

Anything to keep the wolves from the door

we always buy reduced stuff at the local shop and bang it in the freezer, and most of my ingredients (sauces/ pasta, noodles etc) comes from places like home bargains or b&m, i dont see why i should spend £2 on a cooking sauce from asda/sains when i can get one the same or similar from somewhere cheap but possibly the best before is sooner .i think its savvy, credit crunch n all

A cheapskate is someone that spends £1 travelling to save 20p on something.

Wrong , that is what you call stupidity  if they were really a cheapskate why would they be paying £1 to travel when they can walk for free :-D

Nothing wrong with Lidl's or Aldi, they both sell quality products at fair prices, it is the likes of Tesco that sell rubbish products at not very fair prices.

Ever little helps ( Tesco Shareholders ).

i like lidl- it's got the best digestive biscuits and great chedder cheese.. infact, my friend has just moved away from the area and the nearest place she can shop is a Tesco, and she is really feeling the difference.

she's missing lidl. and she hated the place (still shopped there though as it was stone throws away!)

op- i don't think you're a cheapskate. you're a lot wiser than the person who labelled you as one...
