    Cheap Watch Service

Does anyone know a good place, in the North West, to send an Omega watch to for servicing that will not cost around £200?

no, theres indians in here too!!! lol

to be honest i have an expensive watch and i wouldnt trust anyone else to service it as tag would make good any problems they cause. for instance they serviced by watch and the second hand came off so they fixed it again and apologiesed profusely.

Pay the £200 an have it done correctly. Or sell the watch.

In Manchester's Arndale there is a shop called the watch lab. I have always found them reasonable and have had my Armarni serviced there..

I love how people think anyone other than the overpriced authorised dealer will do a bodge job...

Do all of you take your cars in for service at the manufacturer garage?

    Can't help OP soz lol

i understand what your saying but why spend £1000 on a watch and then have someone who has had little experience with these watches work on it.

I dont take my car to those a$$ holes at the main dealers because they are not mechanics, they call themselves technicians, basically they dont know their a$$ from their elbow.... i do my own servicing because i know its been done properly

But I didnt say take it to someone who has little experience lol.

Im just saying that there will be independant watchsmiths out there who have plenty of experience but wont charge through the roof.

Ive heard stories or authorised dealers charging like £80 for a battery change...all you do is change the battery, grease the O ring and the watch should be fine and dandy any small time watchsmith can do this and I would be surprised if it cost more than £20

yea i know it **** me off too lol.... I took my watch to a small time dude because hes a family friend and hes authorised but he didnt charge me anything. Although i took my watch to HS samule for a new battery and he quoted me over £100!!!! after i finished laughing in his face i said good one mate... how much... he said £100 i said put me down for 2 and walked off lol.

But some watches need to be pressurised or closed in an inert gas or something stupid like that hence the dealers charge through the roof... i wouldnt pay that for my police watch but for my omega i like to make sure its being well treated.

next watch will be a kenetic watch... i think i will be able to recharge the batteries no problem
