    Cheaper Ryanair Flights (again)

If like me, you visit the Ryanair website often because your waiting for the price of the flight to reduce (hopefully), you'll know the prices fluctuate up and down.

But wouldn't it be good to know if the prices are going to go up or down wihout checking?!

This is how you do it.........

Choose your flight like normal, but buy 5, 10 or 20 seats and you will see that the prices of the seats change or even that the tax charges will appear or disappear.

So say the seats are cheaper when searching for 10 seats, you need to wait for some to sell, then you can "get in".

I have saved money in the past most definately. I know have done the wrong thing telling everyone here!!!!

Wouldn't buying 20 seats work out expensive if I was going on my own? i am sure just buying one would work out better.

WHAT? And you're right. You have done the wrong thing be telling everyone here (_;)

And don't forget, expensive inbound flights to UK are best bought one way, then you pay Euros! The advantage being you save, utilising the exchange rate.

I also reckon that Ryanair flights are cheapest 4 weeks before departure, but not 100% on this.

Increasing the numbers flying, increases the prices.

    Another waste of time thread.

I think what the OP is trying to say is if you search for 1 ticket say £100 return and do the search again but for 5 tickets OP is saying it should be £500 but its not always the case could be less or could be more
So for instance 4 tickets might be £100 each but buying 5th has dropped or increased in price, so if 4 people were to buy that journey there would be a change in price for any after that.
Not sure how true this is, but have my eye on a few tickets and tried the 5/10/15 ticket search thing OP reffered to, will let you know if they go up as suggested by Ryanair/OP

By buying 10 tickets, you will see the cost of a flight after 9 tickets are sold. I know it works because I have done it 3 times to different destinations over 2 years :-)

If you have already tried and the price hasn't changed then it won't! But say if you try in another 1 day or 2 days time, when 30 tickets may have been sold, it might show something. Since 25 is the max tickets you can buy, you can only tell that far at any one time.

Yes, and the price increases because there are less available seats on the aircraft, so how does that actually help anybody?.

Just check prices on a regular basis and buy when they are suitable.

Cheers for the tip OP. Won't use it myself but know a few regular Ryanair customers.

It usually works the other way around does it not?

Lets say you need 5 tickets now, what actually happens is that you will be charged at the highest price per ticket for all tickets purchased, e.g. There may be 4 tickets on the flight available for £100 per person, however if you buy 5 the total purchase price could be £750. This is made on the assumption that the next level of tickets available are priced at £150 pp. In order to get the best price you should make 2 transactions, 1 @ 4 x £100 and 1 @ £150, making a total billing of £550 v's £750.

Whilst prices may fluctuate, following the above is likely to mean you will pay the lowest price available at the time of booking.

Why, it will not save them anything, it may cost them more.

I use Ryanair on a regular basis, trust me the suggestion put forward by the OP has no money saving benefits, tickets are sold on a supply and demand basis, my tip, buy early or take a chance and buy late.

Inactive, it does work, you either misunderstand or something else, and I have saved money. I was only trying to help people!

And as I said before I have done it 3 times

As I read it, the only point of putting the multiple in the basket is to see if the price alters.

I think that the OP is right that the tickets are cheapest about 4 weeks before a flight. That fits with what I have observed, plus the highest prices are the week/day before and ages before-hand.

So the idea is that to find out when the tickets are at their lowest price, you have a regular look at the flight you want.

You might start looking 5 weeks before the flight. You see the stated price and then you put 20 tickets for that price in the basket. If the price for the 20 tickets is less than 20 x the stated price , then the price is going to fall. You wait to buy.

If the price is greater than 20 x the stated price , then the price is going to rise so you buy straight away.

That's what I understand the OP to be saying anyway and it makes sense to me.
