I would have thought that's quite reasonable actually. My mum just paid £360 through more than with breakdown cover. She is in a similar situation as your mum.

Well she is paying £350 atm with swinton, and they are not the cheapest around, and they have been rubbish! So just trying to change it for her, the one that was cheap I've never heard of, and then breakdown with aa or rac is around the £100 mark, so doesn't change what she is paying currently :?

I have just been doing my insurance, and for the 4th year 'Sheila's Wheels' gave me the best quote. It was under £250 and is fully comp and green flag cover. The basic green flag is £39, thats fully comp, protected no claims and extra motor cover?

Have you given them a look for a decent quote ( and there is a £50 off deal if you go through quidco) but I didnt as I got as good a match on my renewal offer...link is here somewhere...............

Why don't you get the breakdown cover seperatley? Quidco have offers on now and then, works out very good value (if you need that sort of thing!)

you could try directline online or on phone, sometimes phoning is better. They do breakdown with greenflag.

I would, but I don't know any good breakdown services, as she has always combined her insurance and breakdown with the same company ( through swinton) and rac for full is £103

oooh my favourite, an insurance thread

and yet, alas, I cant be bothered

I'm with ]IC Breakdown, they get good reviews. Everything except "key service" for £49.

As for the car insurance, there is no consistently cheap insurers as they perceive the risk of different types of drivers/ cars / area that you live differently. Just a case of getting as many quotes as possible.
