OK - there are lots of places 1st of all.

2ndly it depends who you book with - going direct to a Hotel isn't always the best option.

Some providers of rooms like expedia and so on have their own discounted rates at the hotels -so say you were to 'walk in' you wouldn't get it as cheap as if you had booked with (say) expedia in the first place as they have already negotiated such a huge discount for the sheer quantity of rooms that they shift.

Then you have to think about location - where you want to stay. Remember London is so easy to get around in - that it doesnt HAVE to be on the doorstep of a club even if you do want to get trashed....

So - you can look from Tower Bridge all the way down to Victoria and beyond... And as North and South as you want to go...

Novotels are popula but busy - it depends on what you are after and how mmuch etc.

Bit of a longshot but if you have some clubcard vouchers, why not try and convert them into deals. I'm sure the ramada jarvis was part of the clubcard deals. If you have none, maybe buy them of mates? That will make it A LOT cheaper

Well - hold on coz walk ins are always going to be expensive.... Have you looked at LastMinute? And the London Romms place?

If you just want a place to sleep, look at Travelodge deals, wife and I are staying at Docklands next month and it cost £19 for the room, it is a fairly new one and is very clean and comfortable. If you look on their website you can search London ones and it gives you all the prices as they vary quite a bit.

Yeah, unfortunately as you will no, London is never cheap. Keep a look out for offers. I'm planning on going in August for a weekend.

Not cheap but the clubcard deals will make it affordable. You're right about going abroad for the same cost, joke really

That is not a bad shout - there are lots of smaller hotels around Covent Garden that charge a lot more than that! Just for the location but London is so easy to get around that could be worth a look...

There are literally LOADS of them - There is one near Embankment on that link that is cheap enough...
    Purrrrrrrr

Travelodge - basic and clean. We stayed in Park Royal last week as it is near to Wembly plus it was only 30 minutes on the tube and was a direct line. There are lodas of Travelodges nearer to London though. The price is per room - so if there is more than 1 of you get a twin room and divide the cost. Good luck with your search. Debs

I think it's 21 days notice for a £19 Travelodge room and besides most the ones in London any saver rates will be used up by now, gotta books mths in advance.

travelodge family rooms can sleep up to 4 for one price so even at full price can be ok prices

Look how about staying just outside of London

Me and the wife go to London every couple of months and we pay £135 for 3 nights at the innkeepers lodge at Walton on Thames , it is decent accomadtion and it is also right across road to train station which has direct links to waterloo and only takes 20 mins to get there
