Cheapest Place To Get Windows 7

    Banned
Needed for PC (although will be installed on a partitioned Apple Mac.)

Other half is NHS so have been looking for usual NHS deals, but to no avail.

Needed to run Quoteworks - only one license needed.

Don't you need to be a student?

There are special NHS licenses, but I think its only for things like Office etc.

Be interested in this? Mum needs new PC and is a NHS nurse!?

software4students only gets you the upgrade edition anyway!

yeah but it installs on a clean hard drive no probs. check out the deals posted on here for more info.

at the mo, shes uses a "copy" of Windows XP. Needs new PC though, so might as well upgrade to Vista or Windows 7 if possible, so obviously would be a brand new install, on a brand new hard drive?

I'm starting a fresh and installing this on a dual boot mac - I haven't any previous versions of OS for PC.

I don't know - that's my question. I need a stand alone OS (no upgrades) that will run on a dual boot Mac.

I bought a copy of win7 from software4students, used as a clean install on a PC, no prob

did you basically boot with cd in drive and install afresh?

With the student disc you don't need to have Vista & can install after you delete the XP partition.

    Yes.
Oh, and once you've installed Win7 you'll notice a large folder on the hard drive - this is all your old docs etc that Windows saves (even though it says it won't), so don't worry if it looks like you've lost more disk space than you expected - just delete this folder.

I wont have any files to save as its a brand new PC (built by myself!)

    Hi

You can do clean installation using "Windows 7 Upgrade for students". Choose "Custom" installation Do not enter the product key during installation. Installator won't allow you to do that. Just click "next". You can activate your win7 istallation afterwards using the product key from the DVD.
I just did it using clean, unformatted hard disk
