Cheapest way to experience Alton Towers!

I want to go to Alton Towers for my 21st birthday in August.

I did want to stay over night at their hotel so I could go to the main theme park and also go to the waterpark but for one night, access to the theme park and the water park is around £280 (not sure if the access to the theme park and water park is for the first day or both days?). Obviously, the £280 isnt including travel and I am about 200 miles away from Alton Towers so if I were to drive up there that would mean alot of Petrol, so not a cheap journey!

I have also looked at coach trips, I can go a couple of days before my birthday for £45 which includes travel and access to Alton Towers, but its only for the day.

Does anyone know of any other ways to "do" Alton Towers without spending a fortune!

Off to bed but im sure if you search you might be able to get better deal on hotel will look in morning if you've no luck by then. But tesco clubcard deal is cheapest just for park entry approx 8.50 in clubcard vouchers buys you 1 days entry to park.
Have you thought of staying in a B&B in alton or w/e that pretty little village is called down the road. Though im sure it is alton just remember as a teenager driving through. That way you could be at the park fresh for 9 am or whenever they open because its brill as park dont pick up really till 11 ish whenever i gone so you can do the best rides first and quickly

Or stay there the same night as you been to alton go out on the tiles and drive home next day.
There's plenty of B&Bs within a short distance of the park - you can stay in one for next to no money & be at the gate for when they open so you can still get in a full day in the park:thumbsup:

It would just be me and my boyfriend.

I have just spoken to him and he isn't massively keen on driving 400 miles (there and back) and would rather we got a coach.

What we are looking for is a two day trip. For example, a coach trip that takes us there, we get the day at Alton Towers, coach takes us back to a Travel Lodge or similar, the next day back to Alton Towers, spend the day there and then the Coach takes us home.

However, all I can find is same day coach trips.

Lol! I don't blame him. Its a long way and would cost quite a bit in petrol.
lol, i done a 250 mile round trip friday... up at 6 there for opening and left when the rides clsoed at 5.30pm... its not too bad of a drive to be honest BUT you def need to be tehre for gates opening, if we had not we woudlnt have done many ries (unless your prpared to pay for a fast track digeridoo... to get on the rides quicker! We had a great time though. check ebay for people selling tickets form teh sun which they got free...i picked up 4 for £36.

failing that the B&B is teh best option to let your bf have some shut eye the night before
