Cheapest Way to Travel to Newcastle

    Hi,
I'm looking to go to Newcastle on the 26th August 2007 and be there at about 7pm at the latest.
I am looking to return from Newcastle on the 28th August any time after 6pm.
I'd be travelling from Tring or MK probably but if it's cheaper if I'm in London then that's no problem.
I am looking to travel via train unless there are some really cheap air deals.
For return the best I've seen so far is just under £80 with a family railcard.
There will be 2 of us, 1 adult and 1 child.

Yes, so maybe I've decided to have a look at that Cruise to Norway deal! :whistling:

Which routing is that £80 on?

Could you get to peterborough easily? I'm not sure if a direct GNER service would be cheaper :?

You could get a Family Railcard single for the 1400 from Kings Cross - thats £34.45
Then do the same backwards for the 1835 or the 1908 again £34.45

For an adult and a child to get to Peterborough it would be around £36. Bu then a return from P'borough to Newcastle would be around £50. Am I right?
