I have to send a faulty printer back to amazon. They have told me that I need to send this back at my own cost... and then they will refund for it. However I don't have a clue about which way would be the cheapest to send it back.

Any help will be gratefully received

You don't have to send it to Amazon.

Ring whoever the manufacturer is. Tell them Amazon have told you to contact them and they will eaither:
1) Send an engineer to have a look (depending on the problem).
2) Organise a pick up.

This happened to me with Jigsaw24 when I bought an Epson printer.

if amazon are going to reimburse you then it doesn't matter about the cheapest way to send it.

With most electronics, the seller will resort to the manufacturers guarantee (usually 12 months).
You are best to contact the manufacturer direct to get it sort - no matter who your bought the item from, especially with printers.

royal mail standard parcel will prob be cheapest
