Going to be making this but following recipe below I have a little question. As I have only used condensed milk for caramel squares I know the caramel has to be boiling. Does the same apply here or is it really just a case of melting the chocolate with the condensed milk??

Mint Chocolate Fudge

INGREDIENTS

350g plain chocolate
1 (397g) tin condensed sweetened milk, divided
1 dessertspoon vanilla extract
175g white chocolate
1 tablespoon peppermint extract
1 drop green food colouring (optional)

SUMMARY

"This decadent layered fudge is perfect for those who love the 'After Eight' combination of chocolate and mint. Makes a perfect food gift!"

Ready in 45 min, Servings: 28

DIRECTIONS

Line a 20 or 23cm (8 or 9 in) square tin with greaseproof paper.
In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt plain chocolate with 250ml condensed sweetened milk and vanilla. Spread half of the mixture into prepared tin; chill 10 minutes, or until firm. Reserve remaining chocolate mixture at room temperature.
In another heavy saucepan over low heat, melt white chocolate with remaining condensed sweetened milk (mixture will be thick.) Stir in peppermint extract and food colouring, if using. Spread this mixture on chilled plain chocolate layer; chill 10 minutes, or until firm.
Spread reserved plain chocolate mixture over the mint layer; chill 2 hours, or until firm. Cut into squares and store in an airtight container.

im not too bad at cooking/baking...but fudge is my nemesis..its so hard to make

certainly following the directions there is no boiling involved
and if so its not really fudge its squashy flavoured chocolate, maybe the lack of butter lets it stay set.
sure would be tasty though!

edit: looks same as this
recipe

I might give this a try. Def not made as you would make fudge. I would say the condenced milk will give it the sweet fudge taste and the chocolate will allow it to solidify as it cools.

When I've used condensed milk + chocolate in a recipe in the past I've not boiled it - you should be fine.
