Christmas come early...

Here's your dilemma. You order a £5 t-shirt from an online retailer. The parcel arrives, but inside, instead of your t-shirt, there's about £150 worth of other items. After creating a post about it on misc., do you a) contact the company and offer to send the items back or b) laugh like an excited chimp and wear all your new swag at once?

I'd keep it and place another ten orders in the hopes they mess up again.

I like the first bit, the second may be too late...
has to be a troll thread.

"After creating a post about it on misc"

This is a few years old so might have changed but this is how i thought things were, I'd leave the stuff in its original packaging for now.

bbc.co.uk/new…ake

I'm not sure how you would know the difference so i would just wait and send back in original packaging if asked

Knowing my luck they would send me a whole heap of stuff for a three year old. I would contact them and tell them to come and get their stuff.

HUKD...you've changed, man. If it was a pricing error, you'd be all over it.

Play sent me something by accident once and i contacted them and it was such a fuss it was an extra DVD I'd have no interest in watching ever, the faff and confusion of them on the end of the phone and yes I did goto a post office to send it back to them for a postage refund, it really wasn't worth it, they really didn't seem to understand why i was even bothering to tell them about it so i wouldnt again unless asked, I'd just leave the stuff a few months and then use it or sell
Contact them
If the company had taken £150 instead of £5 from your bank account, would you want the difference back?
If it's anything like the company I work for they will say thanks will send someone over to collect, then no sign of them lol

The book people sent me an extra book once, they told me to keep it. Gave it to a charity shop

Good man. Shame about the time wasted installing a new OS though.
I'd just fire off an email explaining that I've been sent some random incorrect items and let them retrieve it.
The only time something similar happened to me was when I ordered a study guide for school and got sent a booklet of questions (for the same subject), when I messaged offering to send it back they just apologised, said I could keep it and then sent the item I ordered.
I would wait 2 months then keep them or wait another 4 months then donate to charity.
Depends, if it was a massive tax dodging company I think I'd keep it.

If it was a small trader with 2 kids and a mortgage I'd be more honest.
I remember buying a home cinema system from Pixmania, supposedly "brand new". Unitl I pressed eject on the dvd tray and out popped a french porn dvd. Actually where is that DVD now
Had a similar thing recently, however the company involved not only sent my order twice , but sent double of it in each delivery too. The first delivery I thought it was a nice bonus, the second delivery the guilt kicked in so I phoned them and they said it was their mistake , didn't even show in their records so they said I could keep it all
having had something similar happen with a cheque which was sent to me twice, I would say don't wear it. I waited 2 months and then got asked for the cheque back ..... I had told them the day I got it and that is how long it took them to reply!

This has been discussed ad infinitum. Teh Arn posted this I think a long while back.
Depends on the size of the company. A long time ago I got sent a faulty laptop from HP, it was for work and they were taking ages to fix it so I called to complain. I got a new one, then another new one a week later. Never got asked for it back.

Ad infinitum? C'mon Dave - surely you meant multi-ple times?
My brother i think has 3 soldering irons now, he ordered one, pointed out a manufacturing fault, they told him keep it, sent him another same fault he complained again they repeated it a third time he gave up and asked for a refund.

They all work, its iron with cleaner\holder thing and its the cleaner\holder bit thats wrong in some way so can't be used, no idea why i ain't a electrician

I would keep the stuff until they ask for it back.
