Church of Scientology - BBC Panorama Documentary

Scientology is a pay-as-you-go religion - which is one of the reasons why the Charity Commission in Britain does not class it as a religion. Is this right?

Having visited their East Grinsted HQ to deliver some "prizes" I was glad to leave in a hurry, even if I had people running after me, brandishing forks and rakes in the air. My crime!! I reversed onto the very well manicured grass verge, doing a 3 point turn and left two tyre tracks, not intensionally I admit but after driving like a bat out of hell and watching my rear more than the front, I had a smile on my face that I was treated with such hostile actions for something I did not intend to do.

    Should they be outlawed?

Yes it is. Read the story ]http//ne…stm

I still hold the opinion "bunch of freaks"

Loads of videos on YouTube about scientology, here's 1:

There are people in the US who practice polygamy, believing it to be right in the eyes of their religion. There are strict Muslim laws in places in the ME that say you should have your hands cut off for stealing, or your tongue cut out for lying. Religious cults like these 'scientologists' are receiving far too much leniency from the law. You would have thought that we would have learned the lesson from waco
Yet some people continue to be allowed, by law,to excrete their own brand of bile in the name of religion. There has to be a line where religion becomes extremism, even anti-semitism. Why is polygamy wrong in the eyes of the law, yet stuff like scientology classified as legitimate (even sponsored by public faces like Cruise)?
Polygamists believe their actions to be right in the eyes of religion. It seems to me that some things are more wrong than others, but very little difference actually exists in reality. To me, it's all hateful extremist practice and has no place in a civilised society. What annoys me most as it's dressed up as a 'science'

You Were Not There At The Beginning Of The Interview

The guy from Scientlogy was so annoying I can totally see why the interviewer lost his rag

Annoying is not the word. He was condescending and arrogant. He looked a little like Cruise too didn't he? Especially with the glasses. Did he ever take those things off? Was he trying to look like Cruise or what?
Shared the same first name too. Was it Cruise in alter-ego mode maybe? :?

They're all being scammed for their cash, and can't leave because the scammers will dish the dirt on them, and in the case of celebrities - they'll ruin their careers and make sure that they'll never work again.

Dare anyone say the 'C' word and scientology in the same sentence>?>?

edit: no, not that 'C' word, the other one! (though prizes for using both!!)

I'll say the "C" word and I am not ashamed of saying either, will add another word to it as well and this is from my experience - Cult & Brainwashed, there...

Are there any official scientology sites outlining their beliefs or do you have to join and pay a fee to find out what is all really about?

Oh leefal you sound very safe, I think if you have money they will find you soon enough, ou won't have to go looking for them - :giggle: I am not aware of any site but you could google them, but you run the risk of them finding you :w00t:

lol, I'm just curious about what they actually believe, they're forever denying all that alien crap and silent births though i don't know their official stance on soylent green (its poeple! they're eating people!) is. Just what the hell are they? Or is that their whole marketing ploy? " Give us twenty (thousand) bucks and we'll give you the answer to eternal youth."

I watched that show tonight, and they came across as very erie - very twilightzonesque.
"you want a reaction well you got it buddy, I'm very mad right now." said the tom cruise robot ver 2.0 service pack 2.

I recommend having a read on Wikipedia - has most of the answers!

I'm just about finished watching it on the BBC Website and I am shocked, I thought South Park was being a little exagerated but it's actually worse than that I hope it doesn't get such a big foothold in Britain!

Not much different to any religion, they are all cr**, based on fairy tales, fed by indoctrination and the biggest single cause of the world's problems, and always will be.

    they are all MAD!!!:whistling:

It was extremely freaky. Me and the missus sat there open mouthed. I never realised there were so many 'celebrities' embroiled in this weirdness. That's just my opinion anyway. I don't often judge on 'religion' but this programme was a serious eye opener.

Well done to the BBC for reporting on this. My only regret was that it could have been made into a huge 2 hour documentary rather than 25 minutes.

Good to see you again d_c

Question - when "their" females are in child birth, isn't it true that she is not allowed any pain relief? seems a little tough on the poor woman. :?

If Scientology didnt have anything to hide, they wouldnt be following the BBC round like they did. I think most of these celebs are tied into the cult because the sceintology leaders have "dirt" on them which will ruin their careers.

it's a huge pyramid scheme - they're doing very well out of the gullible!

Stop calling my religion a cult!
