we talking real stuff or strongbow and the likes?

I'm not really a cider drinker, my girlfriend is though and she recently discovered one called Suffolk Cyder which is her new favourite.

can you put where u get them from and also rough price as im writing them down so i can get a few a week.
Thanx

White storm [in a bottle, not sure if its in a can] Fairly strong 7.8 i think. Can be bought from many retailers

Magners - Any retailer

see if there are any local bewers near you as proper scrumpyi is looooovely. Alternatively Gaymers, scrumpy jack, kopparberg and woodpecker :santa:

Any supermarket like Tesco should sell the Suffolk Cyder i mentioned.

Gaymers - really nice, i like it and it is only a pound a bottle. MORRISONS

Another vote for Kopparberg here. Pint glass rammed full of ice and a bottle of pear Kopparberg is one of the most refreshing drinks ever.

Tried lots of different ciders but have to say i still think plain old Bulmers is the best

I was on holiday in Somerset this year and the cider from this place is great. They do cider & scrumpy, but the really good stuff is the Single Variety bottles. Not as cheap - we are talking £2.50 for 500ml instead of 2 litre - but very tasty. Enjoy - I certainly did. :-D

Anything made by Merrydown. They do different flavoured ciders now. Really nice cider. Can't stand Woodpeckers or Magners, bears no relation to flavour of real cider IMO

Asda do bottles of gaymers (not sure if 275ml or 330ml) for £2 for 4.

A few off licences round my way do 500ml bottles for 99p

Morrisons do them a pound a bottle.

im sure ive seen magners or whatever its called, 3 for a fiver! Just trying to think where..

I'm more than willing to pick you up a selection of local ciders from Devon and possibly South Somerset. There are loads of different brands and varieties so really you would have to work on your own £ budget.

Ill have a look round over the weekend and see if I can get some average prices if you wish.

Only problem I can see is actually getting them up to you at reasonable cost. Out of interest where are you in Hampshire as I have relatives up that way and there's a slight possibility I could arrange something ?

PM me if you don't want to state a specific place on the boards

Hampsire isn't too far from the West Country so if you fancy a bit of a drive, there are quite a few local brewerys in that area which will have lots of nice scrumpy and various things that are worth the travel. If you do manage to find a local orchard with cider (look out for homemade signposts on A-roads) then they will normally have some sort of brochure which will tell you where all the other ones are which is helpful. Either that or farmshops will have some local ones too. I think the general pricing is £2 a litre or so, you normally get the cider in a plastic petrol can looking container, so you'll have to repackage it for a more "present-like" feel.

Still, supermarkets these days are increasing their ranges which is nice (in a way) and you can't really go wrong with most ciders. Good hunting!
