    Cineworld Unlimited Card Help?

I've had an unlimited card for two months. got it because three friends were getting it.

All these friends subsequently bailed because they couldnt afford it.

I haven't been for the past month because no one has an unlimited card i know and it's just sat in my wallet charging me.

Last month I got an email saying they were increasing the price of their 3D surcharge to £1.50 from £1.30. I know it's only 20p increase but I thought it'd be a buyout for me because id' signed up for £1.30.

I emailed them two weeks ago requesting permission to cancel on 'legitimate grounds' which states in their T&C. This email was 'ignored' so I sent the exact same email a week ago and still no reply.

I'm tempted to write in, I can call but personally i think it sounds petty for 20p?

'8.2 After the Cancellation Period but during the Initial Period, you may only end the subscription on Legitimate Grounds and any termination shall be at our discretion. If you wish to terminate the Unlimited Card on Legitimate Grounds then you should make a special application by post or via email to the Subscription Department, stating the said grounds, and enclose any necessary evidence. If this termination is accepted, it will only take effect after a notice period of one month has elapsed from the end of the month during which the request for termination was received by the Subscription Department. If the request for termination on legitimate grounds is not accepted, you may not end the subscription, and the subscription fee is payable for the whole of the Initial period. In the event of termination on legitimate grounds, you may not re-subscribe until 6 months have lapsed from the end of the notice period.'
Is the part of their T&C I'm referring to.

Part B applies to me. Can anyone see anywhere else that I cannot cancel on these grounds?

Also; if I just cancel my DD does anyone know what happens? I don't think they do a credit check because one of my friends got his (then cancelled in the cool off period) and he'd only just turned 17.

    Thanks.

They do not do a credit check, you are not applying for credit when you sign up.

They may however pass it to a debt collection agency of you cancel you DD as its a contract for 12 months

Send it in writing Recorded Delivery and see what they say

This was plan B. But I saw the address is P.O Box - I don't think theyre signed for. Well not so signed but they're more of a 'sorry you were out' situ. - I had a problem with that before.

I've never got the stigma of going on your own to the most anti-social leisure thing you can do. Fair enough Saturday night might be a bit much but any other time is fine??

    lol!:w00t:

Im pretty sure i tried to do this when they changed their t&c's on me last year, they argued it and i never took it any further. It will be the same way as Vodafone tried it when they increased their prices. My advice, quote some legal stuff, if not seek advice from fair trade office

The extra you pay for 3D films is a surcharge, and thus doesn't form the core of the unlimited card experience - you are under no obligation to go to 3D films so do not have to be affected by the price hike, or smthnk similar

Ha, its easy, just do it in writing. Say you have had an unexpected baby, and the bus to and from the Jeremy Kyle show is expensive. With todays world they will believe you, no problems.

Maybe be a bit vaguer. It will, after all, be a human dealing with it so if you can appeal to their conscience they may let you off. TBH I have never done this sort of thing before, but I do have one of their unlimited cards and it is crap when everyone is busy and you have no one to go with, so I understand your point.
