Claiming from Esure car insurance??

Ok my lass had her car parked in a car park over night and when she went to the car this morning there was a dent the size of a 50p and the paint had been chipped off, not a big dent but a small one!
Im thinking someone has got out there car and the corner of the car door has banged my girls door and damaged it

Obviously the car that was there isnt so what im asking is....

If im with Esure and have a 0 excess and protected no claims bonus... should i say it was me that was getting out of my car and banged her door with mine and see if we can get it fixed

Would this affect my insurance? i know i have protected but iv heard even if iv got £0 excess and protected claims i will still have an amount to pay, is this right?

I suppose i should just call the insurance but i dont want them to record it on my account what iv asked, so im asking here first

thanks

For a dent in a door the size of a 50p, do yourself a favour and if it bothers you that much, just pay to get it fixed yourself, I would imagine it'll cost £150-£200. To go through insurance then pay for it and declare for 5 years, trust me it wouldn't be worth the hassle

hmmmm ok

Plus you will probably have to pay an excess.

but i put down that a £0 amount for excess lol

I saw online recently that Kwik Fit are offering small dent removal for something like £75 ish, I think it was that amount anyway. It tells you more about it on their website, but they now fix lots of paintwork/dent stuff so maybe they're worth looking at ?

There could be CCTV in the car park, or witnesses. What you are suggesting carries jail time if caught, is it worth it for £100?

Is it a Saxo your car? Just from your name?

No its the gf's new bloomin car she just got last night

In the long run, probably not worth it...

If you say it was you that caused the dent and she claims against your insurance, you might not pay any excess or lose any no claims discount, but you would have to declare it as a claim against your policy the next time you go to get a renewal quote etc. Again, this may/may not affect your renewal premiums but its still something that you would technically have to declare.

that £0 you normally put down on thw quote is for voluntary excess. Check with your insurance company they might have a compulsary excess! I know thats how mine works!

Its annoying when that happens

I went out a few weeks back with my mum and kids and was parking and my mum kept saying "you have loads of room at my side". I told her it was cos I needed to leave room for my youngest to open his door and get out without hitting the car next to me, to which she said he wouldn't be that stupid. I finished parking and she opened her door and whacked it into the side of the car next to us :x

luckily it didn't cause any damage but if it had I would have left my details under the wiper
