Claiming from Royal Mail

I sold an item on ebay which I sent via Royal Mail 2nd class recorded, the tracking still only shows as accepted at post office and no confirmation of delivery. Item was posted on 25 January, I have contacted the buyer but they haven't responded as to whether they have got the item or not.

So what do I do in this situation, would I be able to put in a claim as the seller and would I get the full amount it was sold for? Plus would Royal Mail automatically inform the buyer of this since they are not responding to me on ebay?
