    Claiming Tax Back Whilst Working?

    okay so strated my new summer job 2 weeks ago and just got paid and was wondering if theres any way to claim that back now, or stop getting taxed for the remainder of the job, im a 17 yar old student, last year i claimed tax back at the end of the year i send various forms off p45 part1,2,3 i think aswell as another p something, the whole process was long and i need my money now, so is there any thing i can do ? or will i have to wait till the end of the tax year again? april i think?

    yeh you can ask your employer for a P46 form, if your employer doesnt have one then you can download it, once you fill in your section your employer will fill in the rest and send it of to the tax ppl. Remember you are not allowed to be taxed for the first 1500 quid you earn.

    You should not have been taxed at all until you have earnt over £2000 (4 months of tax year have elapsed so tax free allowance is 6035 / 3)

    I guess you must be on an emergency tax code.

    If you're a student there is a p38s form you can fill in to give to your employer that stops you from being taxed. ]http//ww…pdf

    that P38 form, where it sayd total pay from to.., im still in employemnt though, so is this done after i finish? or do it now?

    hmm imo might as well do it now. i would probably put down the length of the contract (job length) and get the employer to put down the figure you will be paid between the two poles in total.

    Though i never done this before so can't really be sure

    anyways, i think that bit is meant to be done by the employer..-

    Complet the form now.

    You fill in the left side of the form. The employer should then change your tax code. The right side is completed by the employer after you've left.
