And, you dont know what a club rep is??

It's not good money, it's very long hours and if you have an emergency back home, funeral etc, you aint guaranteed to get it off.

Depends what your situation is now, mine was **** years ago, I moved to … Depends what your situation is now, mine was **** years ago, I moved to London, worked in a hotel (live-in), never had such a laugh, no bills to pay, £10 tips a day, centre of London, woohoo, little country girl living the city life, I loved it, much better than working in my hometown's supermarkets, ****** pay, not being able to afford a night out, go for it I say!!!!!It's experience, man, you're young, you can afford to do it, and work up from it, have a good time!!!!!

Yeh Thanks i will do. you only live once after all =)

ill update when i hear something back.

I went to work in Spain (although not as a "club rep") eight years ago, I'm still there....

Working in holiday resorts is great fun, but think hard what sort of work you want to do. All the work here is hard, and I think the club reps have it even harder. You can certainly live the lifestyle of the club reps, but without as much of the **** that they have to deal with.

So what sort of jobs are there....

Working for tour operators, you can work as a "mainline rep", "kids rep" and "transfer reps" among others, you would have a UK contract, rate of pay quite low, but depending on your job, the opportunity to earn comission.
Party options quite limited, given you probably have to be up early the next day.

Hotel entertainment, this is what I do. Red-coat style work for hotel guests. Spanish contract, paid in euros, full Spanish contract with the right to social security (dole money in the winter). In the past when i have compared my pay to that of the reps, we were paid more, but without the opportunity of earning comission, so they were taking home more. However since the sterling is so weak, in UK terms my salary has increased.
Party options good!

Casual Bar Work, PR etc.
Never done this, so going on what my friends have told me. 7 days a week, no holiday, good pay however cash in hand, so no contract or social security.
Party options, difficult to say - you are in the party every day, but you have to work
Handing out leaflets and "PRing" was banned in Magaluf last year, so it was difficult for many lads to find work.

I have enjoyed working for a Spanish company, I now speak spanish, and am enjoying the current exchange rate! Certainly worth considering.

If you decide to come out do your homework, bring plenty of money to get started, and if you want to work for a UK company, apply at home before you go.

With regard to the comment about funerals, all of the larger companies let people go home for this kind of thing, although you might be expected to pay for the flights, if you were working for a bar, it would be down to the owner.

Send me a message if you have any questions

Robin
