Why do you want a colour laser?

Unless you get a super-high-end corporate one (think thousands of pounds), they work out more expensive than inkjets to run, and can't print photos either.

Duplexing is quite a specialised requirement, too.

What's your annual duty cycle?

Just wanted one for home use to be honest
I already have one inkjet multi function but prefer a laser printer, mono will do too but has to be dobule side as I do print a lot of notes/ebooks.

I would go for a b&w laser, and keep the inkjet for colour use.

The Canon LBP3300 does duplex, plus the toner is good value.

Samsung ML-2850d looks good too:

There is also the HP p2015d (more expensive), but avoid the expensive toner Lexmark E250d.

It really depends on the quantity you want to print, if your quarterly printing page count is in the thousands, then you'd probably be better off with a laser.
If its in the hundreds, then inkjet would be better.

Basically laser is a lot cheaper than inkjet for printing in quantity, but for small amounts then inkjet is cheaper.

If you do consider laser, then go for a printer which is easy to refill toners as this will reduce your printing costs significantly.

The duplexing part can easily add ~£60 to the cost of a laser printer.

Not for colour it's not.

A full set of colour laser toner for the Kyocera Mita fs-c5030n, which is a top-end printer (£700) from a brand known to be cheapest for consumables, costs £300 and will do 8,000 pages. That is 3.75p/page

The HP HP Officejet Pro k5400 costs just £100.

A full set of ink costs £56, and will do 1900 pages. That is 2.9p/page.

incidentally, the k5400dn, for £20 more, does duplexing, and will print as fast as many laser (be careful with duplex speeds, some printer slow substantially when duplexing), and be cheaper than them to run.
