    Install Windows, problem solved.

More serious, probably cookie-related. What browser are you using?

edit: And, possibly, what flavour of Linux. Is it one of the netbook jobs?

firefox have cleared all cookies and double checked all settings made sure hadn't ticked 'clear all cookies when closing'

Hm. Try going to Profiles and renaming cookies.sqlite to cookies.tmp [filename may vary in linux, sorry], and restarting Firefox.

When you cleared all cookies you will have cleared the ones that kept you signed in so you'll need to visit each site and select 'Remember Me' and 'Keep me signed in on this computer' etc. again.

PS Install Windows - problem solved - my behind. Linux is so much better suited to a netbook than Windows XP...

yes i did that even after clearing all and setting up passwords again it will save the details to sign in but wont stay signed in on any site

Just to double-check, in Firefox->Tools->Options->Privacy you have enable cookies, keep until they expire selected and delete all personal data unselected?

yep, i closed firefox and opened again 1 minute later and was signed out of eveything again

Okay, seems it might be a bug in firefox, first I'd make sure you had the newest version (so run system update). One option which should work is to try creating a new Firefox profile. To do this you need to close every window of Firefox and then open a terminal and type the following:

    firefox -ProfileManager
    (and press return...)

Creating a new profile will lose all your current personal settings but hopefully that will remember everything from then on...

There are also other browsers you can download and use on Linux (many built on the Mozilla/Firefox source but with changes to make them faster etc), such as 'kazehakase'...

That probably means you've still got a Firefox window open - are you sure there is no windows (including downloads etc) open? If not, open System Monitor and make sure the is no mention of Firefox in the Processes list, then try the above command
