Compact digital camera recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a good compact digital camera for about £100 - £120?

It will just be used for holidays, nights out, so doesnt need to be too sophisicated, but would be great if it could fit in my handbag.

Was hoping for maybe 6MP (is this being too optimistic??), and good battery life.

I was considering the Canon A630 that is on offer at the minute, but think that it will be too bulky. Is it worth sacrificing this for the price? Will anything else I get in this price range be poor in comparison?

Was also looking at the Fuji F31fd - but perhaps there are lower model that would be sufficient?

Hopefully someone can help.
Thanks

A630 is a cracking deal and well worth the money, and tbh nothing will touch it at that price, its a great point and shoot camera.
If you want small then the canon ixus range fit the bill try this:-

Ixus wireless Zoom £100 but only 5MP.

Is quite a nice camera, and is very light. I would definately recommend it at first go.

Just use AA Rechargeable batteries in it

Brilliant camera, good battery life, small, excellent in low light conditions.

;-)

The Fuji F20 is currently £99.99 at Argos, as is the Panasonic FX-01. Both are good cameras. The Panny has the bonus of a 28mm equivalent lense.

Tecno selling it for £129, but entering the code OOTD5 when ordering got me an extra 5% off, bringing the price to £122.60, delivered. It only has 1 year warranty but if you want 2 years warranty you can check Pixmania they are selling it for £125 + £4 shipping then just use quidco to get some discount. Frankly its one of the best compact cameras out there.

Canon Digital Ixus 60 or 800, both 99.99 at Sainsburys (in store).

Great little camera, bought the 60 last year - metal body, just bigger than a mobile phone - carry it in my pocket all the time - ideal!!

another vote for the F20, got one and is awesome!

yeh it seems the Fuji gets top votes at the gadget shop
