COMPUTER HELP PLEASE CAN YOU COPY ALL YOUR OUTLOOK EXPRESS TO DISC

    Hi
As I am a very untechnical person can someone advise me if i can just copy everything on my outlook express to disc so that i can then delete all my old messages. My computer is old and I am trying to make as much free space as possible. Most of my emails are completely irrelevant but I am too scared to just delete everything. I am hoping i can just put the lot onto a disc in case i ever need to look at them again.
I have windows XP (not sure if that is relevent, thats how useless i am)
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Not that much of a whizz myself but try this....

When you have outlook open and you can see all your emails go to Edit and go to Select All, this should highlight all the emails. Then go to Copy. then go to Windows explorer and find your disc that you want to copy to ie D: E: etc then right click and select Paste. This should copy all the emails.

    Good Luck

I wouldnt do it like that myself, I havent used outlook for ages, but there is an "Export" function in the top menu. save it to .pst , which will put all your emails in one file, with all folders and contacts, just incase your pc dies, you can quickly load eveything up.

Create a .pst file (Archive your emails) and burn that to CD/DVD.

Use the help function in Outlook if you need step by step assistance - It works a treat

    Just backup the contents of...

    C:\Documents and Settings\you username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

    job done
