i was told to hoover the dust because that can kill it!
how do i know if the hardware is the problem without taking it too a repair shop where i can guess they will try to rip me off for being stupid and not having a clue, with my comp being so young i wouldnt ov thought it would be a hardwear fault!:( is there anything i can download to check it?

    Always hoover mine..
also wash the screen with a sponge

when u say hoovered the inside did you specifically target the cpu and gpu heatsinks making sure there was good airflow under the fans?
if not perhaps retry using a natural fibre brush to clear the heatsinks keeping the vac well away from the electronic components.
other wise as said probably a hardware failure such as memory or mainboard.
also what makes you assume you will be "ripped" off by a computer technician? bit of paranoia there, consider seeing a professional over that too..

Rum memtest86+ from the disk I linked to, that will test the ram.

okay thanks again,i really hope it works

If there is a component fault causing this it will likely happen time and again.
Many people go down the route of replacing component after component and you might strike lucky and manage a fix. Sometimes it can be as simple as a bit of solder on a board that has broken or is shorting in some way.
If it is software or a confilict of some sort then the tools you download may fix it.
In the end you will need to decide if its something you can live with or if it needs to be junked.
Its not necessarily anything to do with being gullible. There are faulty pieces or kit out there.

Try removing the memory and then sticking it back in.
Had a similar problem last year and that seemed to solve it.
