I'm not sure how you think you have the better cpu, the i5's are quicker than the older C2Q's and with that 1Ghz overclock his processor is much better than yours. I can't see why someone would want a straight swap with an older C2Q system unless [email protected] missing something.

It maybe because mine has the EO Stepper & even on ebay mines sells for around £200 & his i5 sells for around £100 so that's also the reason i thought that mines was better.
Why would people pay almost double for a Q9550 over a i5 as I also don't get it :-/

Looks like his CPU is slightly better, but why does mine still sell for more even on that site cpubenchmark :-/

So would you say it's worth me swapping ?

i would swap yeah, no offence but his seems the better option.

ask yourself this question tho why does he want to swap? seems odd

Is it one of those asus boards that can be affected by the USB device over current problem ?

Original Poster

I don't know why he wants to swap but says he's wanting a better case :-/
He also says he has the receipt for his PC.
Could his CPU be fake & do you think his graphics are better than mine ?

Original Poster

Also I don't know the guy he's offering me this after I had a add on Gumtree for a i7 PC.

hmm be cautious whatever you choose but some asus boards had USB corruptions as dontasciime said, doubt his CPU or any of his parts are fake, maybe damaged/broken in a way noone but him are sure.

on thr graphics card issue, both good cards i would say his is better as its newer and will be supported better.

Agree. I couldn't help thinking 'if he doesn't want his own pc, why would I want it'?

Turns out the guys in London & even although he's not asked yet (to post it),he's obviously a scammer.

Would I be better selling my CPU then & buying a i5 CPU if you guys are saying it's better ?

After all i can get more money on my CPU & by the i5 for less.

different sockets and there is nothing wrong with your CPU at present

It may have something to do with me buying stuff all the time & in truth we have all been on the end of someone trying to scam us. It comes with a risk everytime anyone buys off the Net.

I have never been the victim of nor to my recollection has anyone tried to scam me....you must be doing something wrong as this happens on a weekly basis to you

Try gumtree, try ebay & buy as much as I do then see if happens.

BTW:I've only ever been scammed once & that was on here & the seller has not been banned & since then he's went on to scam another member.
I did sort of get scammed on ebay where I sold a iphone & after the buyer paid using paypal I let him collect (duh) but I learnt that rule & I never lost money on that deal even after.he said someone used his credit card.

We all live & learn, some faster than others.

If you got to ask then you know it's dodgey already.

I wasn't asking if it was a scammer I was asking what Spec was better & thought the guy I was exchanging emails with also stayed in Glasgow & I was going to his house to see his PC etc so was never going to be a risk.
Once I found out he lived in London a deal was never going to happen unless he was going to post his PC to me first.

Gumtree is scammers heaven.
