confused about customs declaration - Jersey

Got something faulty from WH Smith Jersey, need to send back. However do I need to do a customs declaration? I do not understand what I need to do and Royal mail website not clear. Its a filofax

fill out a little sticky customs dec and show the item as valued at £x ( less than £18) and put returning as faulty in the space. It might be Jersey don't need one but every other country does and it only takes a minute to fill out

    returns/sample value £0

I never put a customs declaration when sending within the EU.

Easiest way is to just walk down to Royal Mail and send it there.

If you are printing the postage at home, the website will make you print a custom declaration form if its needed.
