    Contact Lens Wrong Way Around?

Got contact lenses yesterday, left them in after leaving opticians and today I can't seem to tell if there the wrong way around, as when I take them out there slightly wet and it's extremely hard to tell.

Can someone help figure out how to spot if there the wrong way around, tried the taco method, pinching it... But still don't know whether it's me

If you hold it up to the light it should be almost perfectly 'bowl shaped'. If the edges turn outwards, it is inside out.
    (Hope that makes sense?)

Seen both pictures on google images, but still can't figure it out, took the right one out as I spent over half hour trying to figure out how to get the left one in

    As above,

There is also a built-in failsafe called excruciating pain, which activates when the contact lens is put in the wrong way. X)

That and it will feel uncomfortable if inside out!

Go back to your opticians and ask for another sitting. As a rule if I spend more than 30 seconds with one on my finger I just throw it away and get another one as they pick up all major of crap off your finger

Just to add, most manufacturers include a number sequence if you can see numbers generally 123 and they read how they should the lenses are the right way round.

When I take them out is it best to let them dry for a bit or put them in straight away?

You can put them straight in. Any excess solution will blink away.

I don't ghink it makes a difference. i have been wearing them for over 10 years if they are comfy and you can see properly then they should be fine

It does, seating the contact lenses the right way round, keeps them in place so they don't move when you blink or accidentally dislodge them, and provides a more comfortable feel so you can wear them longer. They have the orientation for a reason.

One way I was shown was to put one on a crease in the palm of your hand. Gently apply a tiny pressure and if it start to curl then it is the right way, if it's the wrong way it will resist and not curl.

Reminds me of the time I tried to get my lenses out following a few sherbets. After a few minutes of pinching my right eyeball I realised I had already removed that lens. Woke up with hangover and sore red eye.

I have monthly - It will flicker around when you blink and feel a little uncomfortable if its the wrong way round.
You can usually tell in the first few seconds

Dont let them dry out, put them straight in

I think it only matters if they're toric for astigmatism
