Phone consumer direct, when I had a recent issue with SOGA here, I didn't get "great" advice although people did try and help.

My first point of call was CD and they gave me sound advice on where to start legally. I thought it was the old phrase "fit for pupose", I was told to fight my corner on the key word "durable" I won, I got a much better product and cash compo for my trouble.

    thanks..

slight issue is the item I was sold and paid for a deposit I cant have, due to it not being possible to make it in the first place.. so now I have to have a secondary product which I never wanted ..so I wondered where I stood on the price and for the major issues its caused.. and I mean major I would like to re negotiate the price and get a better deal and some money off .. the product fitted is NOT fit for purpose

I would ask consumer direct tbh, they will actually be able to advice you properly of where the law applies and what action to take.

Well it sounds as though you do not have a contract as it has been frustrated.

yes I guess, the contract I had and have here in front of me bears no relation to what has been fitted .. its a case of where to go next as it has caused me so many issues .. time off, property in storage, plasterers etc etc and most of all security to my house..

do you think it fair I ask for money off the final price of what the doors should cost.. ?

think your gonna struggle on this one, as suggested contact CD, they will be more help that us lot, if it is of no use why would you want money off, if you come across like this to CD they will think the same as me

Its not use as even when the doors were fitted.. they didnt fit , two glass panels were too big and the door opening was the wrong fit.. I had to have the doors fitted as I had a massive hole in the back of my house..

as to frustrated .. pop over and look at the mess here

DG i can imaging your frustration, but surely if there not fit for purpose you need to be pushing for all your money back, asking for money off sounds like you just want to save yaself a few quid, if ya get my drift, get yaself a cuppa, chill a little then phone CD

oh and if what your contract shows as completely different to whats fitted, then surely there is your money back

You should be able to return the items if they do not work as advertised.
    opsi.gov.uk/act…n_1

For example if you bought a telephone (landline) and they advertised it as cordless then you are entitled for a refund. However.. there is a gray bit which says that if its a secondary function such as still camera recording movies (which it may not do) then the seller may have some ground as the camera does it primary job of taking pictures.

    Did you try CAB ?
