also is the exchange rate the same for £-euro and euro-£?

Just saying some shops do take Euro like M&S do here.

You want to change it back while the Euro is strong, so the sooner the better.
It wont be the same rate everywhere. As a rule of thumb Post office and Travelex are the best, but shop around and ask how much they will give you for X amount of euros.

thanks for your reply i want to change it back ideally, iv got about 800 euro i want to change back if i put it straight into my bank will i get a set rate or will i get charged some sort of commision from the bank?

many places offer to buy back any left over currency at the same rate you bought it at. have you checked if that was an option at wherever you got it?

i have seen people pay more for euros on ebay than if they went direct to postoffice ???, I noticed this after we come back last year from spain with spare euros and i went off to exchange them at the post office and was disappointed with what I got back, especially when I saw on ebay what people pay!
