Corsa sxi - Thoughts/ Suggestions?

Urgh, i hate the scrappage scheme! It means that now there isnt ANY small cars for all of the new drivers. I have been to many many garages trying tot look for a car but no luck. There just isnt anything about, im not even being picky, small cars have become rare!

So theres this one up the road from me which is a Corsa sxi, whats are your thoughts and suggestions about it? Its £2500, 40,000 miles, ect......

(I really wanted a VW but i havent even seen one for sale!)

Oh and what do these abbreviations mean? (They were in the advert)
C/L, E/W, P/S, S/S/H, A/C, CD, E/M, E/W, PAS

Im a 17 year old female who turns 17 in a couple of weeks

thanks x

The size of the engine varies, you can get a 1.0L or 1.2L or maybe higher. The mrs has a 53 Corsa Sxi 1.0L and insurance isn't particularly high, best do some quotes first. Find out what size engine the one on sale is.

The Mrs's car is pretty good, can be a little slow getting upto speed. Perhaps a 1.2L would of been better, but good for what she wants.

Sounds pretty good for a first car. Best get somebody who knows about cars check it out with you though.

Try adding somebody else on the insurance as well as this brings the cost down, or do it in somebody elses name with you as a named driver

try express insurance my daughters started with them

my mum bought us 1L corsa today, im 24and to get ins on my on it was bout £700, but as my mum as the main driverand me asan added one it was £400 and that included breakdown assistance with zurich. if you hdsomeone with good driving history (no claims etc) it may be cheaper for you to get them insured on it and you as a named driver

With regards to insurance, try getting a quote from Direct Line. I think they have some kind of deal on at the moment, some of my friends were talking about it and they saved a couple of hundred pounds with them!

You're 17 turning 17 in a few weeks?:?

my daughter has a Corsa SXi and she loves it it has twin exhausts and is a 1.2 she pays just over £600 a year fully comp insurance and has 1 1/2 yearsno claims and 1 year as a learner (she had a polo to learn in), we have never had a problem with the corsa and it has flown through MOT two years running
We had a really good deal two years ago it is an 02 and we paid £2,800 for it so it was almost 6 yrs old when we bought it and it had done roughly the same mileage about 38,000
