    Credit Card Advice....

My girlfriend is going to buy a Macbook pro for £940. She will be paying monthly and Apple tie you into a 36 month contract on 15%. So the monthly payments come out at around £25-£30 which is easily affordable, however they dont give you the option to pay off extra at any time. The other option is to get a credit card with 0% interest for 14 months. Now that works out at around £65-£70 a month, which is still affordable, but are there any major downfalls with the credit card route?
    Help is appreciated =)

Why not go through the higher education site?
Apparently they don't even check if you use the right link ..

    Higher education site?

Yep, think Boothy has the link!
    Give him a pm

Nothing wrong with credit card, make sure it's interest free on purchases (not just transfers).

Then make sure you pay the monthly minimum (without fail!!)
Don't be tempted to spend on it if you can't pay it off.

Even better, buy the Macbook then cut the card up

if its no interest for 14 months and you pay it off well before that time is up then i see no problem.
however if your girlfriend is one for impulse buying then i would say no way credit cards are too tempting.

If you know someone in Uni then ask them to purchase it.

A friend of mine works for Apple - Trafford Centre. And I asked about 13" Mac Book Pro.

He stated that being a student you get 15% off the macbook and 75% off AppleCare.

Might want to think about that one

Its 13% off on the higher education site, and three years apple care free.

OP, you can either get someone at uni to order it, and get a bigger discount, or try here and get a smaller discount:

Didnt know you got the 3 years free AppleCare :w00t:

How does the 13% work out? You only save £60 off the normal site :? should be about £129 according to chrome calculator.

Nope, thats to the education site, they have three different sections - he (i.e uni), college's and education establishments. The last one is the one I gave the link for, as the others would require a uni proxy.

yea she gets the 13% discount anyway because she's in higher education, and i didnt see a problem with it as long as she pays it off within the 14 months, and then cut the card up.... cheers
