    Credit card loop-hole post 1997

My friend just told me about a credit card loop-hole - credit cards issued before 1997 - apparently some of their terms and conditions were wrongly written and people are claiming back all the money they have on their cards, even new purchases, anyone heard of this!

My mum phoned me a day or two ago about an advert in the paper about this, I thought it was a scam !

my friend paid an agency £595 per card - she has a total of 3 cards with over £15,000 on, was promised it would all be written off or she would get her money back - also the money she paid was added to the cards so she would get that back too !!!!! I have been away and not heard of this so was just wondering if anyone else had - apparently it is being kept very quiet

it is quiet at the mo as the first few cases are in court at the mo. late summer it should explode.
you're right about the other stuff tho'

Exactly. I love all the moral condemnation that pours out about MPs expenses and the like but when you see what the general public can be like, you really do understand that we get the government we deserve.

    NOT

we'll all have to burden the costs if this happened ,so people who look after their finances would be shafted by higher costs because people lived beyond their finacial means

how many more jobs would be lost in banking/insurance if these cases were won???

I was contacted by a legal firm offering me a job in getting clients for this...I think the legislation came into play for credit used prior to 2007 without a signature authorising the debt, so it can be written off in its entirity.

I've set up something similar for someone close to me, who may of not paid a certain debt within 6 years and if he hasn't made any payments, then that can also be written off.

This will no doubt hurt the countries economy even further and we'll have to bail out the banks with higher tax but people are short sighted and never look at the bigger picture in crisis situations.

Incrediable isnt :x Ive worked hard over the years not have debts, yet some people rack up thousands on the cards & jump at the slightest chance of not having to pay them off even though its thier debts :x

And no doubt they will run up more debt, before claiming through this loophole....

    Poor show....

    Corruption breeds corruption.

i wonder where this mentality of "it's ok to buy what you haven't got money for" came from,
i mean i understand debt for special use(say setting up a business) or emergency but for a new TV?? but i was brought up thinking debt was a thing you did not take on lightly, was it the thatcher years and everyone must have a mortgage?

I have a fair whack of debt but it's all stuff should I need to pay it off I can

Paid my car insurance on a 0% card and paying off over a few months, means I save £100 over paying monthly at some stupid rate of interest.

I think debt can be a good thing, but very few know how to use it properly and spend more than they can afford which is never a good thing
