CRUISES-NEVER BEEN BEFORE-RECOMMENDATION FOR OCTOBER HOLS??

Found 7th Sep 2008
Has anyone experience please-would like to take Mum age 78 and kids 15 and 6..I think around 24th October school hols although would suffer the wrath of the teachers and take em out of school for a few days either side.
Budget maybe upto £800 or so each if all inc..and would prefer from Southampton or another UK port-or a short flight-majorca etc...no 9hour flights!
Please help if you have any ideas as i have looked at a few sites and dont know where to start!
Thanks guys!!!!

Try the Thomson site. There is a 7 nt cruise on the Thomson celebration from Paphos (flight from London) on 22/10/08 (Pharoahs and the Promised Land) £795 full board.Possibly worth a look.

Heres one a little you might have not considered

please let me know how you get on, especially the children as they the same age as mine, and although the little guy would probably love it think the daughter would be bored brainless, so let me know how it goes please xx

Hiya,
Try
cruise1st.co.uk
you can search on the dates and it will tell you which cruises are available and at what price. Feel quite tempted myself!!

the attitude i had from her lately its tempting to leave her at home locked in the cupboard:whistling:
from what ive read they have teen discos etc..and she makes friends soo fast-and almost always keeps in touch when home-so we dont usually have a problem!
I knew yur daughter was similar age-didnt know the little guy was 6 too-great age eh:thumbsup:

We used teletext holidays to find our deal, it was a valentine surprise for my OH, but i beleive it was these guys.
I think your mother should enjoy this cos on our boat there seem to have been a lot of seniors, they were having a whale of a time, but just mind the heat, we went and it was regularly clocking up 30 deg, we had no problem with the food as there were international chefs and always beautifully set up, the deserts were to die for.
How able is your mum? cos there will be some walking to see all the wonderful sites.hope it helps:)

i think i saw this but every cabin i tried for said not available...

Hi - if you look directly on the Thomson cruise website you'll see a variety of cabins (rather than the one I could see for this - which have double beds and might not be so suitable for you). The thomson website also quotes cheaper price (£469 for cheapest cabin) and £199 for a first child price. Worth a look?

Oops was looking for wrong date prcies are

she can walk some but not too able-i guess average for age. I wanted to give her something different she hasnt done before:thumbsup:

African Safari tend to reduce their prices a week before the departure..
So if you dare wait, you could pick up a real bargain.

This is a great holiday I would recommend, went earlier in the year.

theres plenty of relaxation on this type of cruise, there is a swimming pool on bord, all the excursions will be by coach, some local ones will be using the caleche ( a horse drawn cart ) a wonderful way to get around the markets in egypt. the tour guides on this cruise are very helpful. Possible may be a wheel chair you can use on board.
