    Curry's Price match policy

I went into Curry's yesterday to get them to price match a game with Asda only to be told they don't price match them. There is a big sign in the shop stating ...

Find it for less eleswhere and we'll match the price plus give you 10%

Also ion the websiate i says..

In the unlikely event that you find a cheaper price for the same product and offer in a local retail store (which has stock ready for delivery) we will not only match the price but beat it by 10% of the difference

But further down it shows only 4 stores.. Argos Comet Tesco John Lewis

This is really poor and false advertising. Considering they are part of the DSG group like pcworld and they give a much better policy.

so you ask a member of staff for details, they give you the details and you are unhappy because it doesnt work out the way you thought.

small print is small print,I think they will be aware of advertising rules, not really that misleading just typical of most of these big chains i am afraid which is why I buy the majority of stuff online

It should state "at selected stores" rather than "anywhere" since it's only against 4 stores.

I swear we've done the pricematch at Curry's before and they had a broader range...maybe they've edited recently, which would explain why they only stated 4 stores further down the list.

My local pricematches ALL local stores that includes Asda. I always do it when games are on special offer at Asda, but they always check that Asda have stock. I think the stores listed mean that they'll match any of them in the country, but perhaps every store makes their own rules.

Try PCW ours tends to be more flexible than Currys, even though they belong to the same company.
Currys will always ( well usually) find a reason not to price match any of the listed stores to the point where the staff's attitude makes you want to slap them, but having said that Mrs FJ got them to pm Comet £11 off a fridge for my parents even though neither had them in stock, Currys ordered one for del this week. Go figure.

Well it is certainly misleading as it should state selected stores as realfriendlyman says.

My local pc world doesn't have it in stock or i would have went there for it as they price match asda

God illiteracy and stupidity is a common issue in the UK.

The sign in the stores relating to Argos Comet Tesco and John Lewis relates to the FACT that Curries will match their ONLINE PRICES if they have them in stock and available for immediate delivery. They will price match any other retail store within the 30 mile specified distance as long as they physicaly have stock in the retail store but not on foe example the ASDA website. Learn to bloody read morons.

lol if you're going to talk about illiteracy don't forget to check your own post for mistakes... Doh!

OP, PC World would definitely price match asda, if you have any problems ask to speak to the manager they will do it for the sheer fact that they can't be bothered to argue with you.

This is why I try and avoid at all costs buying anything from PCWorld, Comet, Currys etc. They are all overpriced and without fail try and squirm out of any returns

Looks like these days people have so much free time, to go through all of that everytime they go shopping, yet then they say they are busy on top of it lol.

Agree. Currys floor staff will try their best to get out of (or refuse) pricematching.

Thats only for the online stores. I have had currys price match asda and other places before, the retail stores are fine but they will phone to confirm the prices
