Custom Build PC or Pre-Built PC

I am looking to get a new desktop pc (budget of £300)

I am not looking for fancy gaming on it, but enough to run Football Manager and maybes World of Warcraft.

Would love a PC thats small in size to

Question is is it better to get a custom built pc? i know of PCSpecialist? Are they any good? anyone had experience

Also whats better INTEL OR AMD ???

Or does anyone know of a good retailer that does good pre-built PC's.

Hope some of the knowledge on HUD can help me out thanks

Buy a cheap pre-built pc on here or ebay mate.

I have in the past bought a 3.2Ghz P4 2Gig average graphics and some good space in a Dell machine for £90 so just have a nose.

World of warcraft I never ran on high settings was just no point.

Manager games dont need much.

well this PC is not for me but my 10 year old bro, i don't want to get a 2nd hand PC really, cheers for the heads up Ad, help always appreciated !!! ta

Intel is generally regarded as the better processor.

Intel is regarded as better but i think AMD makes ones that are better overclocked.

generally, its better to get prebuilt PCs, whether by an online company or dell, hp, etc. as it often works out cheaper than building one yourself.

If your looking for one to just play WoW or FM then you can buy nearly any new pc on ebay for as little as £200ish (that's brand new and built by some obscure company)

Hope that helps

Don't let a 10 year old kid anywhere near WoW. It's highly addictive and sucks down epic amounts of time, and it can do serious damage to his schoolwork and social life and all that kind of stuff. It's a bad, bad game. Just google for phrases like WoW Addiction and you'll see what I mean.

hahah i was a WOW gamer and it is addictive, he will take over from my character lol, but if he wants to play it he will have to fork out the 60 day pre-paid card haha

same goes for football manager. its so bloody addictive!!
nearly made me fail my first year of uni!

with regards to ebay stores, i'd just have a browse through the buy it nows in the desktop pcs section, its the easiest way.

Buying 2nd hand is a bit risky of course... they could have overclocked it/ may have old kit in it salvaged from various machines and no warranty.

if its any help I bought from PC specialist before - good price, great build quality. I used to build my own PC's but you cant really beat the prices of the big companies nowadays. (It used to be a cheap way of getting a PC to build your own - but now its more of an expensive hobby!)
