Hey all, im looking for ideas to say a few quid, not get rich quick stuff (if only) but day to day stuff that would save some pennies

off to Portugal in May and used all my savings for flights, villa is taken care of via family so just spends needed for me and my 3 kids, work has been veery slow so im very tight budget wise at the moment so im not in a position to save much at all, and i dont want to get into debt with loans etc, not that any bank would give me one lol

So any ideas to help guys or am i doomed? thank you

selling stuff, cutting back on food bills by shopping at cheaper places, trying to cut back on fual used, join every survey site going, and cashback sites

have a clear out and do carboots ? Cheaper than ebay

packed lunch for work
drive slower to save fuel

supermarket own brands can be as good as branded stuff

use cashback sites like quidco, to get cashback on goods which you may purchase anyway.

See if you've got anything worth selling on here?

No costs to list, and you might have something you dont want that someone else needs!

sell the kids and don't drink beer ever again...... you'll save money, trust me:whistling:

Try quidco, look out for the freebie things on there. sign up to websites, get £1, change gas n elec providers, etc. soon adds up.

go shopping on a saturday night and pick up the reductions and chuck them in your freezer.

i find planning meals can help save money when shopping, you don't end up buying more than you need. Oh and never go shopping when you're hungry.

the only thing really worth doing that for is the ps2, with over 35 games and accessories etc, but sadly i'd rather keep it than sell it for what people on here would want to pay me for it, its heart breaking how much stuff like that drops in value :x

was thinking avon or betterware, anyone think its worth it? only got 9 weeks tho lol

avons ok as long as you got lots of friends who will buy, in 9 week you aint got no time to build up a round really, im sure if you sort out the kids rooms and your drawers there will be something to sell, give it a try

can you offer to babysit-childmind or something like that ?

or a few extra hours at work-but keep the money seperate-that often helps? It all adds up.

like i said worth a nosey, if you looka t what people on the fs boards sell you will see one mans rubbish is another mans treasure, anything goes so get rooting:thumbsup:

what about delivering leaflets/papers locally?

A friend of mine lost her job delivers 3 days a week and picks up £50

gonna put the kids on packed lunches, they will be mortified but £29 a week is alot of money on that, one week of that will have to pay a deposit on a school trip then the boys need new trainers...grrrrr.....kinda wish id said no now and not booked the flights!!

I reckon you could do upto 4 packed luches for about £5-£6 a week maybe less. Thats defo a good idea

it'll be worth it when you go-you'll have a ball-make sure you get the kids trainers from somewhere like Soccer Direct - then they are named ones but not too expensive.

lol

Another thing before I do shopping is I check the supermarkets websites, see whats on offer for the cheapest, make a list of what to get from where (but I am lucky as I have a fair few local, as I dont drive either)

Some stuff can be even cheaper than smart price/value in some cases

Do you have sky/virgin? Cut back on channels?

Maybe drop an internet package (if your provider has more than one?)

Good idea, you can compare ur weeks shop at Asda Tesco & Sainsburys to see which is cheaper at www.mysupermarket.com

Sometimes if you can its worth shopping online and using codes. You can usually find a code that covers delivery costs. Make up your shopping list before you start and only buy what you need. Sometimes when you go to the supermarket you end up buying **** you dont need lol so worth trying online and see if it saves you anything
