I bought a pair of Shimano SPD cycle shoes from decathlon but didn't realise that I needed additional cleats in order to fit the cycle shoes into the spin cycle pedals

can any hukd cyclists kindly explain which accessory I'd need to fit into the pedals

Yes - look the same - only ever used Shimano branded but they say compatible.

Your shoes have both the 3 hole road and 2 hole mtb.

Your peddle is joint normal shoe and mountain bike type cleat.

Personally would bin those straps too.

Cheers for the advice, very helpful. The straps are on the bike at the gym so I'll probably leave em where they are tbf.
