DAB CONVERTERS

Have heard that you can get small unit that you can add on to exsisting HiFi units that will give digital reception.

I would like DAB reception, these cost about £20-30. I know you could get a small DAB radio for that price but I like to stereo sound system I have already.

Anyone any experience of these?

You'll need a DAB antenna too for this. I'd go for the standalone radio and connect the headphone socket to your HiFi.

Plus the fact the you are DOWNGRADING your quality when you move to DAB. I don't see the point unless you really need the new stations

Thats not strictly true, FM radio generally has more compression due to limited SNR and DAB is certainly a league ahead of MW (so good if you like absolute or 5-live)

OP - Have you thought about something like ]this from richer sounds? £40 but might suit your current hifi better (especially if it is already a seperates system)

Just bought one of these today from Currys - DA-100 DAB Radio Adaptor £9.97 to clear. Connected to the Bose in the kitchen - brilliant.
