Any ideas for my dads birthday present? He is in his early 40’s and he doesn’t like technology to much.

Ah yes, me and your dad go way back. Give me a few to think up some ideas.

Crazy idea..... ask him, but to be fair you should know what your Dads interests are.

Weekend in Amsterdam sounds good!
Due to the lockdown it can’t be an experience but a physical gift. You also didn’t mention budget and his likes.

Maybe a nice BBQ. A nice blazer.
a bloke in his early 40s who doesn't like tech. ummmm....not exactly a lot to go on is it??

i find a bottle of whisky is always a safe option
Well for mine today (44) I got a bag of haribo and a knock off poundland toblerone. Thats me sorted and easily pleased, mind you I did also get a new top end to convert the car from 1285cc to 1641cc from myself to class as a present. Thats what we normally do for me and the Mrs as parents buy something for ourselves we would really like that would normally be out of our budgets.

Just got in from fine tuning it, so it will be fully on the road for its 46th birthday on Saturday.
Good aftershave he likes or the exact sport shoes he uses.
As said, what are his likes/hobbies etc? Need a bit more info to go on really...

What is your budget?

If he's in his forties and likes; say; gardening - how about some new tools or if money allows a mower/hedgetrimmer/pressure-washer? Or if into DIY - again some bit of kit he either hasn't got or an updated/newer something he has? Cordless drill/driver or a set of decent screwdrivers? How about a really good rechargeable torch perhaps?

If he likes a tipple, then a decent bottle of his fave or a nice single malt if he's a whiskey man? Does he like a certain aftershave/fragrance but it's usually too expensive? Or if he's a chocoholic (like me!) then a decent box from Hotel Chocolat or a few big bars of his favourite?

A book of dad jokes (in case he's run out).

A garden set of cricket/putting/croquet/boules and let him win on the day.
