    Data transfer help please.

Ive just bought a new desktop pc.

My old lap top obviously has all my info on that I would like on the new pc.

Is there a simple way of transfering the bits I need (emails and address book main things)

I thought I could have just cut and pasted onto a memory stick, move stick to new pc and loaded them up, but I cant see how

Help appreciated, Im a bit of a non techy btw.

Can you tell us the platforms / operating systems? Can point you in right direction, depends on OS, etc.

    Way hey! Well done :-)

    Might have a look at:

    G'luck.

Don't use the XP Transfer wizard - PLEASE!

Seriously it's not good! If you explain what you want to do exactly, I can probably help you!

Well Im happy with most of the new stuff on the new pc, but I wanted my address book and some emails transfered over.
Also my favorites list would take a while to revisit and list, so that would be good to bring to new.
And my photo albums and videos would be nice not to lose.

One problem is that the old laptop has a brocken dvd writer so I cant transfer pics and vids that way.

You want to get a USB Pen Drive probably! Depends the total size of all your photo albums and videos..
