David Brent: Life On The Road

I just watched this through Amazon Prime..

I really liked The Office, but this film has to be one of the most depressing things i have seen?

    Was it on purpose?

I get Brent is the unpopular guy trying to be everyone's freind.. But everyone was so cruel to him, it wasnt at all like in the office where people humored him and laughed behind his back, everyone was just plain cold not to mention there was very little to laugh at..

What was the point in this film? I thought Gervais was a Hollywood Guy now..

Surely money was the factor. Haven't seen it yet, but was planning to

I gave it 5 minutes and switched it off. The good thing about the office was that it was a whole bunch of different characters playing off each other. 2 hours of Brent is not appealing.

It really seems like a cash in.

I can't stand the guy or his characters

Went to see it on release day, enjoyed it.

I thought it was good, the office was miles better. he'll never do anything that good again, but its still great to see the Brent character.

I also have trouble liking this chap; I couldn't ever get into 'The Office' despite lots of peeps telling me how great it was.

I thought it was overly laboured both in script and acting and it left us with a rather tedious production.

I like to think my sense of humour is broad and I can find a space for every comic from Michael McIntyre to Frankie Boyle, but I have great difficulty finding a space for Gervais.

    Agree totally with you.

I thought it was very emotional towards the end. Fantastic soundtrack as well.

There were good parts but i just didnt feel the way people treated him realistic, most were just plain cruel.

One of the worse films I've seen! Really hard to watch as it was so cringe worthy.

I found it really self gratifying. What made The Office fantastic was all the cast. Life on the Road was the wrong environment for the character if that makes sense.

It's one of the worse films I ever saw. I did fear the worse after seeing the trailer and worrying the 'best bits' were all in that, especially given the length of the film. I was right all the 'best & funny' bits were in the trailer and they were all awful! Only saving grace was it was a free rental from Amazon, didn't realise it would hit prime so early.

The office was brilliant, one of my fave shows. But after that I really can't stand the bloke and I just feel that Stephen Merchant is the comedy genius and Gervais is no good at writing comedy. What really hammered it home for me was the Princess Diana memorial concert at Wembley, they had to fill time and he was sent out, all he ended up doing was the Brent dance and even that bombed. He's still trying to milk a career based on the Office. Bit like James Corden with Gavin & Stacey..
