    David Cameron-this is crazy surely??

Cameron has sacked his close protection squad-wants to be seen as "more accessible"

Film of him on the news this morning strolling through throngs of shoppers on London streets yesterday.

Now,I didnt vote for him,but he is prime minister now and while I admire his efforts to reform politics,be seen as a "man of the people"-this is surely madness?

He will also still be cycling to work. Can you imagine barack obama going to mcdonalds or a shopping mall on his own? Not only do we have a terrorist threat, but any random nutter could attack him in the street.

Im sure not having a "close protection squad" still means there are armed operatives in the vicinity, but they would be too late to help him surely?

A step too far in Camerons "open government?"

TBH, I can see where he is coming from very admirable but as PM he needs and deserves protection tbh, he will be a target.

My hubby first spotted this on the news when he left the palace, where was his escorts? H e was pretty gobsmacked.

All he should do is take it off Tony Blair who lets be honest does not need it and was a total waste of space who let GB take the wrap when he could for see the crap hitting the fan.

What do you call a psychotic Clegg fan?

Blimey, what was your hubby doing at the palace?
Did he get a gong from The Queen? :w00t:

Old news - this was mentioned a couple of days ago. A security specialist being interviewed pointed out that this puts the public at greater risk. If DC is sitting in his car stuck in traffic and he gets attacked, he has a nice bullet-proof car - those stuck in the cars next to him don't. Not very sensible - hope he changes his mind soon.....for his sake and for those around him.

Imagine an assassination, even the best armed forces have difficulty keeping people safe from a distance.

#sticks hand up punch's bottom and shouts "oh no it isnt"

I bet normal cyclists in london are now feeling very afraid. Heck its well worth paying the congestion charge just to catch him.

Wonder if the would walk the streets of Glasgow without them..
