Radio 5 earlier interviewed david haye and asked him directly did you bet on yourself and he stated that he did not or get anyone to bet on him for himself. He said that he had told all his friends and family to bet on him stopping aforce in round 3.David Haye did not think it was against the rules for him to bet on himself to win but only if he bet against himself.
The british board of boxing representative was very dismayed that david didnt understand the rules and that it seems no further action will take place. Also aforce will still keep the money he earned as some thought he would have to give it up due to his non trying.

Disgrace of a fight. The whole thing stinks, from Ahole not even trying to Haye "fixing" the fight for personal financial gain.

Should withold the purse until a thorough investigation is carried out but Boxing is like Snooker and Athletics and corrupt to it's core.

Yeh but what odds did he get?

Agreed, not really fussed about a boxer betting on himself to win but if he fixed the round that is out of order, although I guess if it is a one sided fight then that is always open to a scam isn't it as he can just get someone else to bet for him.

I want my money back!!

According to his interview on BBC1 this morning - his family (and the Sunderland team , for some strange reason) got odds of 11-1.

How good a job did the promoters etc do of bigging this fight up?

Anybody who paid to watch Audley Harrison fight when there was a Pacquiao fight on FREE a few hours later really deserves to have their money taken from them.

And you should thank Haye for breaking the rules and betting on himself in the third because it meant you got a fight that was at least 6 times longer than it needed to be.

Hell, you should fall to your knees with gratitude that Haye ensured you got to see Harrison land one punch. Because, to me at least, it was that one punch that really made it value for money at £15.

I would rather have seen a first round knock out then 2 rounds of nothing before the KO round.

Its no wonder I dont follow boxing any more, I did try watching MMA, but didnt like the grappling aspect. So now will stick to Motorsport and Women's Tennis and Beach Volleyball.

So, is it or is it not illegal for a boxer to bet on the outcome of his fight?

Maybe if Harrison had bet to 'not throw a punch and lose then there is a problem but Haye or his associates bet for him to win so I cant see a problem, he was confident in his ability.

A great job.

Looked like the place was sold out and they probably did well on Box Office too.

Anyone who thought this was going to be a meaningful, entertaining fight deserved to get fleeced IMO.

Folk talking about Harrison 'not trying' wanna look at his career - it's basically the way the boring clown 'fights'.
