Have an odd issue with three recent Debenhams refunds which I've never had before.
Following the usual 'refund in progress' email, I was checking my bank account and noticed that each refund value was incorrect, in fact they were all 11.1% less than what I paid for the items e.g. paid £8.10 ... received refund of £7.20. Debs customer services were baffled by this and could not understand why this happened (me too!!). They said they would investigate the matter and would refund any shortfall if they found out that this was the case. Refunds into account were on Aug 5th & 8th. Maybe this was just a one off which hopefully was restricted to myself.
Just thought I'd share this with you and if you've returned something recently and awaiting a refund .... check your bank account.

### Update: Debenhams have sorted the refund issue straight away and have refunded the shortfall to my account.

### 2nd update: It's happened again !!! (Aug 20th)

Thank you for the warning.

At last, a heads up and not a "what compensation can I claim?!".

Debenhams are so incredibly crap with returns I am surprised there aren't more complaints.
The number of times I have waited weeks and then after various calls get told that the items were lost in the post (this has happened too many times for me to believe it tbh) and when they do arrive the number of times I have been refunded significantly less than the cost of the items returned. It's ridiculous and I don't shop there any more as I got fed up with it. Never a simple return/refund/end of story, always some hassle.

Always hassle for me too. I don't deal with them online anymore. If there's something I can't live without, it's always instore purchases for me, the service is a trillion times better.

Must say, never had an issue with Debenhams before. Every return I've sent back has been refunded in full .... until now.
I always use the same courier as delivered the goods ... for me it's never been a problem before.

Like I said this is the first issue that I have had with Debenhams and they have sorted it out straight away .... so no complaints from me.

Gosh ...... this problem has happened again! Refund was again 11.1% less paid into bank account. Debs are refunding the difference referencing a system error that they are hopefully sorting out. Well lets hope it is this time. Again, I hope no-one else has been affected by this. Check your reunds in your bank accounts

Lol, they have had this 'issue' for over 5 years.

I am nervously waiting a reply from Debenhams. I returned a £150 leather jacket at the post office and it hasn't got back to them. Like a pea brained idiot I have lost the proof of posting receipt. I must have called customer services around six times now. Finally I got someone helpful who has referred the case to head office and they aredue to reply today or tomorrow. One call has the assistant tell me not to worry if I'd lost the receipt as she can see they sent me a returns label but I have a feeling I'm going to lose this money.
Whatever the outcome, I wont shop on line with Debenhams again - way too much hassle and having to rely on a proof of postahe receipt is a bit rubbish as these things are so easily lost!

How are they easily lost? Fact is you let it get lost, not that they are easily lost
